Pro Contracting’s 28-Year History
"QUALITY IS NOT AN ACT... QUALITY IS A HABIT"
FEB. 1984 – Barry Winebrenner opens Pro Contracting in a 720 square foot shop on Airport Rd, on the property of his good friend and mentor Al Wilson, whom Barry worked with at a cabinet/countertop shop in Eugene, OR. Keeping the wood stove stoked during the winters in that metal building, helped keep the freezing temperatures from creeping inside the shop during many long days and weeks, as Barry worked relentlessly to grow his business and provide for his family.
1994 - After 10 years of fabricating & installing Kitchens, Vanities, Showers, among many other things by himself, Barry hires his first employee.
1995 - With Barry continuing to grow Pro Contracting, Barry hires his second employee, and shortly thereafter, his third employee.
DEC. 1995 - With the help & hard work of his wife Sandi, since 1984, taking care of the books for Pro Contracting, they kept growing the business and decided it was time to move from the 720 sq. ft. shop on Airport Road, to their current building. Going from a 720 sq. ft. un-insulated metal shop with a wood stove to keep the winter freeze away, the new building with about 4,000 sq. ft. of shop space, was a new tool they could use to keep Pro Contracting growing.
From 1995 until 2001, Barry & Sandi grew Pro Contracting from 3 employees to 30+ employees to keep up with the demand of all residential & commercial jobs, as well as a side of the business devoted to production of solid surfacing for all Monaco Coaches being built out of Coburg, OR.
2001 - Pro Contracting sells the Solid Surface Production Operation for all Monaco Coaches to Monaco Coach Corp. Pro Contracting now re-focuses all aspects to residential and commercial projects.
2004 - Barry & Sandi’s oldest son, Adam, began working in the office full-time. Since Adam was born, 2 months after Pro Contracting was established in 1984, he was always around the business. Whether working with Corian scraps and power tools at the age of 7, or in between summer high school baseball games; templating & fabricating or helping on installs, he always had an interest in working with his dad and learning the business.
Adam has been working in the office since 2004, working outside sales, helping customers with their choices, as well as estimating commercial & residential projects.
2008 - Bryce, Barry & Sandi’s youngest son, also grew up in the business. He too, grew up making things from Corian scraps at a young age. After high school summers of working around the shop, He began working full-time in the office in 2008, helping customers with their projects. Estimating residential projects and customer service is Bryce’s specialty. He is a hard-working young man, who is always going the extra mile to help all customers who come through the doors of Pro Contracting.
OCT. 2011 - Pro Contracting moves from their offices and 300 sq. ft. showroom in Suite #4, to their NEW 1,300 sq ft showroom in the street-front space of their building, Suite #1. Through the French doors from their new showroom, customers can walk right into the “Slab Warehouse”, where all types of tile & many slabs of granite, quartz, and other natural stones await their clients.
Pro Contracting operates with 10 employees, with over 120 years of combined experience!
