1.     The engineered quartz products listed above are manufactured using 93% natural quartz stone, crushed and combined with polymer resins. They are formed and compressed into slabs. As a result, these quartz products are as strong or stronger than natural stones, and as durable as granite. These quartz products are scratch resistant, heat resistant & stain resistant, as well as mold & mildew resistant. These quartz products require no sealing maintenance, as they are a non-porous product.

2.     While we endeavor to match manufacturer’s slab lot numbers and visibly inspect color and patterns for best matches, some variation in shade, particulate and tone may still be apparent. Quartz is more consistent than natural stone, but color variations may still appear, with this possibly being most noticeable on seam areas. Although such differences are typically non-existent or minor, they should be expected. Seams will be bonded together with industry-approved adhesives. This process is vital, but will allow you to more easily notice the location of the seam(s). Although Pro Contracting strives to make every seam as small & inconspicuous as possible, you will be able to see and feel the seam. Seams will be within industry standards. Quartz slabs come in sizes of 55” x 120” and/or 63” x 128”. Quartz is made in thicknesses of 2cm (3/4”) and 3cm (1 ¼”).

3.     For warranty purposes, unsupported spans need to be kept to a maximum width of 24”. Overhangs on islands, peninsulas, etc., of 6” or more, need to have supports such as brackets, flat bar steel supports or corbels. Unsupported spans & overhangs risk cracking and even breaking if heavy weight or forces are applied to them. Pro Contracting will not be responsible for cracking or breakage that occurs after installation due to the application of heavy weight or force over unsupported spans and overhangs of countertops & surfaces. Pro Contracting can furnish, fabricate, finish & install flat bar steel supports under overhangs if a client desires.

4.     Soap & water is all that is typically needed to clean these quartz products. If necessary, use a common, non-abrasive, household cleaner. Comet Soft Cleanser Cream with bleach or Soft Scrub Liquid Gel is what we recommend. Apply these directly to a damp, clean cloth or sponge and wipe on the surface. Rinse thoroughly with soap and water on another clean cloth or sponge. Windex or other glass cleaners are also a good cleaner for your quartz surface. To remove stubborn spots of food, gum, nail polish, etc., scrape away excess material with a plastic putty knife. After removal, clean the surface with soap and water to remove any marks or dirt left behind. Use of any other chemicals or liquids to clean the quartz surface not listed above, could void the warranty of your countertop and/or surface. Pro Contracting is not responsible for any damage, discoloring, etc. from use of any chemicals or cleaning agents, not listed above, used by a client to clean their quartz countertop or surface.

5.     Quartz comes in a couple different finishes: Polished, Honed, & Textured (Leather & Pattern Designs). The polished finish is the most common finish client’s use. It is the easiest to maintain as fingerprints, oils, water spots, acids, etc. do not show up like they can on the other finishes listed above. Honed and Textured finishes require a little more cleaning of soap & water to get the stubborn spots up. Each individual client needs to understand that HONED, TEXTURED and MOTIVO (Pattern Design) finishes will require more daily maintenance than the polished finish. Since there is more exposed surface area with honed finishes, metal marks, finger prints and other signs of daily living will show on these finishes. Most of these marks can be easily removed with little effort and a non-abrasive cleaning product such as the Soft Scrub Liquid Gel. Pro Contracting prides itself in providing our clients with a virtually no-to-low countertop & surface, but as with any product, excessive abuse can harm its finish. With a small amount of care, your quartz product will look as great as the day you bought it for years to come. The quartz products listed at the top come with manufacturer warranties of 10 years, 15 years, or Lifetime Warranties, depending on which brand of quartz the client chooses.
